Saalzych
Saalzych is a terrain of dark forests and rugged highlands, cut through by massive rivers that dictate the flow of wealth. High, craggy peaks are topped with stone fortresses, while the valleys are flush with walled towns.
Between the centers of power lie huge wildlands where the law of the road is the only law that counts.
Unlike the inherited kingdoms of the west, the emperor is chosen by a handful of high lords. This causes a constant status of political maneuvering, as the crown’s power is only as strong as the connections to those who granted it.
Many areas are ruled directly by the clergy. In those places, the cathedral is also the court, and the spiritual shepherds act as military commanders and tax collectors.
Saalzych is known for its ruthless hobgoblins, giant spiders, and bulking trolls. It's fabled that a unicorn can be seen in the wild and magical northern forests.
Saalzychers speak the language Getur. Most would be familiar with Rhonic, and some would speak High Gethorian. A few would know elvish.
