Eerde
Eerde is a jagged land split between high mountains, fertile soil, and dark deserts.
Full of abandoned stone & wooden ruins from sieges of the past, the country is shadowed by a huge mountain range that forms a natural stone spine to the west.
Thousands of years ago, pioneering dwarves found the Brekka mountains and built a network of underground cities inside them.
Most of the country is taken up by the shimming wastes, a desert with black & blue sand, sometimes called "the dead ocean" because of the hostile void it makes. It is said that strange men live at its center, and they can guide you to further into "the ocean".
For humans in the more habitable areas, the old ways persist. Life revolves around the seasonal rhythms of farming, hunting, and fishing. Authority is local, familial, and often unspoken.
Humans and dwarves live fairly harmoniously in Eerde, sharing stewardship over government despite a human-dominated monarchy.
Goblins are rampant near the eastern edge of the country, and there is a famous family of dragons that live near its southwestern tip.
Eerdans primarily speak the language Faervig. Many of them would be familiar with Iklomas, Rhonic, and even Spiacian (if from Sabié). A few of them speak dwarvish.
