Backgrounds

Backgrounds are the foundation of your character's backstory.
They include your Upbringing and Calling, which determine your Relationships and Languages.

Backgrounds also include your Organization. You'll choose your organization with the other players as a group.

All of the elements of your background inform your Expertise, which is vital in solving mysteries.

Encourage the players to read between the lines

beyond your calling, whether your character is an expert games hunter, folk hero, swamp witch, or just regular townsfolk is up to you.

The elements of the background are meant to guide, not prescribe.
